A Week of Wonderful Things ended with a celebratory dinner on the Friday evening. All children who attend any part of the week and their families, facilitators of activities and school staff will be invited. We were also delighted to welcome the Mayor of Rossendale, Cllr Amanda Robertston and her guest Cllr Liz McInnes.  The dinner was used to showcase some of the things experienced by the children and, where appropriate, to watch the children perform newly learnt skills and serve some of the foods they’ve created that day's Party Day.

We had a hall full of people enjoying the evening - photographs of the whole week adorned the walls, there were tables showing forest arts, items from the sweet and cupcake workshops and demonstrations of Bangla dancing by both the 4-7 year olds and 8-11 year olds which were spectacular!

A delicious spread was prepared by The Deli, Rawtenstall and served by volunteers, there were water walkers, a bouncy castle, a disco and face painting.  Having enjoyed a whole week of wall to wall sunshine, the evening was a demonstration of Rossendale Rain at its best!  The children got soaked on all the outdoor entertainment and happy, dripping faces chatted excitedly to smiling parents.

It was a great opportunity for parents to chat to the facilitators of some of the week's activities and to share some of their own accounts of the way A Week of Wonderful Things had had an impact on their children.
