We are very excited to be giving children two opportunities to gain awards through their attendance at Wonderful Things this Summer.

We are running a week long forest session during the second week of Wonderful Things which will enable children to attain a John Muir Discovery Award.  (More details can be viewed at https://www.jmt.org/jmaward-about-the-award.asp)  The sessions are being led by a qualified leader from Newground assisted by a school volunteer.  In order to get the award, children must attend at least 4 of the 5 days of forest sessions (though preferably all week to make sure they gather everything they need for the award) and share their discoveries (via a diary - pictures, writing etc).

In addition we are offering the chance to gain an Arts Award Discover level award (see http://www.artsaward.org.uk/site/?id=2300).  Children attending the artistic days of Wonderful Things for 20 hours or more can dance (Streetdance and Sixties type dancing), sing (join the choir to create a performance piece), create (pieces of art and models), act (theatrical fun) and then share their experiences (join in the recording of what they have done).

There is no additional cost to register your child for either of these awards but there is a strict limit on numbers!
