We are very lucky at St Mary's CE Primary Rawtenstall to know a *wonderful* lady called Jenny Kittos.  We first met Jenny as she hired our community room for her adult quilting class (one of the number she runs throughout the week) and began to build up a friendship.

Jenny offered to provide a quilting workshop for children in KS2 and there began the Tree Through the Seasons Quilt!  Each child created their own sewn picture relating to woodlands - there were leaves, flowers, insects, icicles, toadstools and much more; each object was then attached to the tree with the child's name.

The finished product is a stunning piece of artwork which now takes pride of place in the School Hall.

The quilt was entered into the Malvern Show and on the day the judges made their final decision, Jenny received a call to tell her that St Mary's CE Primary had won first prize in the under 16 category.

Jenny, the children and staff at school were thrilled with this news as you can see from the photo in the article published by Lancashire Telegraph this week.

Just another Wonderful Thing!
