The Lancashire Badger Group, partner of Wonderful Things since the launch week in August last year, have developed their partnership with St Mary's CE Primary School Rawtenstall by giving their support to a newly formed eco group.
The children have named their own group WWW - Wonderful World of Wildlife, voted in their own Chair, Treasurer and Secretary and have been experiencing all kinds of interesting and fun things since the group began meeting in January this year.
Andy Hardman of Lancashire Badger Group leads WWW and has given the children opportunities to meet a chicken, calculate the ages of trees in Whitaker Park and the school's own woodland area, had a snack around the fire pit and much, much more! Arlene Harris has helped at the after school meetings with her own wealth of knowledge and enthusiasm. It is hoped that the group will play an important role in spreading the word about their discoveries amongst their friends and families.
